Wow! Usually we don't go that far off track until the thread is at least 2-3 pages long. This is a first. (You'll get used to it, Believe, we tend to wander off topic after awhile.);)

I took part in some moshing ceremonies at the Ozzfest last month. At one point, the circle of body bangers was nearly 100 people big! Unfortuneately, the dust created by the pit seemed to want to accumulate in my throat, ears, eyes, and nose. While I came out with only several bruises and cuts, and a small sinus infection, I must say it'll probably be my last pit for a while, especially on dirt. Yuk!

TeriB19

That just doesn't even sound anywhere close to being remotely fun.:(

Well, there's a "guy" thing about it I imagine. It can be fun to get rough, and I'm not talking about types of foreplay. Actually, there were 2-3 girls in this pit who were hitting hard. For the most part, everyone played nice, but you could still get knocked off your feet once in a while and nearly trampled. Moshers do think safety  and are quick to get you back on your feet for another blow. :P

But, I agree with you. It wasn't my thing, especially at my old age of 32.

I was on the rail for Incubus & Hooberstank in a pretty big pit. I didnt like to look behind me at so many ppl and think about them all pushing forward. SQUISH! There was a lot of crowd surfing and some pushing but I was on the corner. Noone crowd surfs too close to the edge of the crowd.
To answer the original question. I have not experienced any moshing at Creed shows. Some fights due to alcohol probably but security is so tight things get under control quickly.
I highly reccomend the PIT !!

Has anyone seen a mosh pit for a Green Day concert? Daggum. There is a song by them that is their kind of "beat the shit out of everyone around you". Their concerts...are just awesome. I would say better than Creed IMO.

I saw Green Day with Blink this summer. No moshing at all. They were good. They have fans come up on stage and play insturments and the lead singer jumped in the audience but in my humble opinion their show didnt come close to a Creed concert in any category.

The creed concert in auckland this year, there was a lot of moshing.
But it was mostly during the incubus set, who were on before creed.
People went pretty crazy during the incubus set. The pit got less and less full, and there became more and more room, coz heaps of people couldnt take it, and security pulled heaps of people out of the pit.

oh my god i did not know that....were you one of them moshing a??? haha i'm only j/king babe.;)

No i wasnt.
During the incubus set, it was so squashy, some chicks had like fainted, totally fainted, and got pulled out by security. Coz people behind us were pushing back and forth all the time, it became very squashy. But it came right by the time creed came on.

The two times I was in the pit at the Creed concerts this summer it was pretty intense. I was at the catwalk (end) and on the rail, I got squished many times and ended getting elbowed many times. The show in Washington DC was the rowdiest, people were wicked, I have 2 scars on my legs to prove it!!!! I got trampled by 2 huge women who were obsessed with Scott and shoved their way to were I was standing, and tried to get in the front. The key word here is tried, I was certainly not going to let that happen!!! So everytime they pushed me I jammed the heel of my shoe on their shins, and these were not small women kind of big and bulky so they got even more pushy and finally these 2 guys realized what was happening and they pushed their way in front of them and protected me a little, these women were enormous next to me !!!!! and I sure as hell was not going to let them in the way of my view of Scott!!!!!!:bump:

I will.

But when we go we'll get right up at the front rail, its a lot safer. Sure ya get squished into the rail, but at least ya can breathe a bit.
And ya dont take as much of a beating. During the incubus set, it was pretty painful, but by the time creed came on i was at the front rail, and i hadnt even tried to get there, just with everyone pushing i just ended up getting there, so it was good.
At work for the next week, i could like barely move i was so sore.
But i think i hurt more people than what hurt me though, coz i'm so skinny, i think afew people got hurt, very boney ya see.

you obviously havent ever listened to Green Day i take it? Heres a helpful hint oh wise one...Dont judge ALL punk around Blink-182 and New Found Glory, becuase they are the ones you refer to in that post.

And...if i remember correctly...I didnt compare punk to anything. I compared my concert experiances.

Hmmm..... why have I never seen this thread before??

Anyway, I have DEFINITELY experienced moshing at a Creed concert. The one and only Creed concert I've been to was March 2002, and where I was, it was quite rowdy. During My Sacrifice in the encore, the crowd just went off!!! There were about 4 crowd surfers passing over my head, and plenty of shoving and jumping around! :)

Incubus? Moshing? Hahah. I saw them last year and it was really laid back. At Creed people were all rocking out instead of just jumping around like an idiot, both of which could be referred to as moshing.

Marlsy, most of them aren't that crazy. At the two other shows I was in the pit for, including NYE, it was rocking, but there wasn't as much shoving. We even had a little elbow room :D.

I think Ft. Wayne was more the people in the crowd wanting to get the hell out of the pit. We were packed in there pretty tightly (just ask Luvscott!!;)) I know next time I'm in the pit in Ft. Wayne, I'm wearing a helmut instead of a baseball cap! That's for sure.

It was not that bad, it was only one show where it got a little rowdy;) I had these 2 bimbo's behind me who were trying to fight thier way to the rail and I sure as hell was NOT giving up my spot! The one girl started to shove people and she got to me and I said" shove me and it will be the last time your in a pit!" And she started on me and I tried to ignore her but my wicked temper flew out and I had my best friend was with me 7 months pregnant and she started on her and I lost it, I got her in the shins good, she ended up being escorted out by security:rolleyes:

Don't you know it girl!! After I finally decided that I wasn't going to be pissed off at all those people anymore, I had the time of my life! It ended up being the best Creed show I went to last year. But then again, when you're there with 3 of the BEST girls in the world, it makes for a most fun time!! Thanx again to you all for one of the funnest week-ends of my life!! :D

Shit, people hardly MOVED at all the Creed shows I've been to.

Feb 13th, 2002 - I was the one up at the gate, wearing a Metallica shirt, headbanging my ass off throughout the entire show. Mark kept noticing me, and gave me the horns. He even HANDED me a pick at the end. :D :jam:

I was at both concerts in St. Paul, Minnesota. The first got rather rough in the pit. That concert was on a weekend. I'm sure that everyone thought that they had some weekend time to recover, so they overdid it a bit. There were some young girls that totally freaked out, and left the floor. There was also a pregnant couple that was next to me. When they bought tickets, they had been told that there was seating on the floor, of course there wasn't. They had to go way to the back because the crowd got way too rough for her safety.

The second concert in St. Paul, Minn. was much more quiet in the pit.

Both concerts were great! I would go again any chance I could.

Was anyone else at the St. Paul concert?

:wow: i can't believe some of you have never seen moshing at a Creed concert!! i mean, i know not all their songs are something to mosh to, but there are an awful lot that are just so ROCK and loud and everything, they'd have to perform SOME in a concert, how can you not move? Doesn't the atmosphere just get to ya and you just wanna dance? (or jump if there isn't enough room).

I don't really get crowdsurfing, cos i don't see how that is something you're moved to do from someone's music, but hey, i haven't tried it so maybe i have no idea what im talking about. Some Creed songs are so beautiful, you just want to sway and float with the music, while others are so powerful and fun, you just gotta jump! I can't believe there are some concerts with no moshing!!!

People pushing each other or people jabbing each other???

or neither? :(

To those songs I banged my head. What do you consider moshing, Missy? At the Ft. Wayne show, there was crowd surfing but that was basically the claustrophobics trying desperately to get out of the crush that was the pit. Philly was a much different story, but still no moshing. Just all-out rocking!

The two times I was in the pit this last year it was pure crowd surges, I was against the rail and I literally had people smooshed into my back when Scott or Mark would come to the end of the catwalk:eek: I myself did enough singing of lyrics and hoding my arms up in the air, I got a few nice beaming smiles from Scott which were priceless to me, gave me goosebumps ALL OVER:embarass: I came home with some scars on my legs from the one pit experience where I had to push off a girl who was leaning on my pregnant friend, but she eventually got her ass thrown out:rolleyes: Other than that it was pure amazement by th epit people of the "total experience" it was one of the best times of my life to see them that close and feel the ROCK and ROLL in your face:jam:

I went to 3 Creed concerts last year
The first one I had seats, the second was at CAA in Jersey, I was in the VIP section which wasn't bad, the GA was in the back, there were some pretty nice people there. We had wristbands which we had to show to get in front, there were 3 guys behind us who didnt let anyone get passed them, they were pretty cool guys, there was no moshing, swaying to the music and head banging to Bullets, but not crazy. At the end of the show, Flip threw out a drumstick and the guy in front of me jumped up to catch it and knocked into me trying to catch it. My son's girlfriend grabbed me otherwise I would have been on the ground for sure.
The 3rd show was in Evansville, Indiana, no moshing there but the pit was very very close, and people trying to push their way to the front,

I think what we consider moshing is this - jumping around, head banging and a little bit of friendly pushing and shoving. ;) Crowd surfing and the surging forward of people is another thing.

Yeah, that's pretty much it! How can you listen to the music when you're busy floating around on top of people? Jumping and head banging on the other hand, just comes naturally, like singing along.

I was on the rail at 2 out of the 6 concerts I went to last year and no, there is no moshing. People are pretty respectful of each other.
What's in the pit is an energy, a spirit, a love for the band that is so intense you can feel it. Given the choice, being there is worth the wait on line.To be that close to the band, to feel their energy, to look them in the eye is so awesome, it's a total high.

WHEN ARE THEY GONNA BE BACK!!!!!!
