'My Own Prison' better than the other 2? [Archive]

I've got 'Human Clay' and 'Weathered' and i love them.
I've heard 'My Own Prison' is better, and was thinking of buying it, is it really good?

Absolutely, buy MOP! There are those who think MOP is their best work. I love the CD myself and it is definitely worth the money.

If you have Human Clay and Weathered then you should go get My Own Prison. MOP is hevier than the other three albums but you can't judge the albums on how heavy the albums you got to judge the quality of the album and all three are great qualities.

If ya like the other 2 albums, then definately buy mop.
It is definately their heaviest album.
And yes a lot of fans still rate it as creed's best.

My Own Prison is awesome! I think it may be thier best album...but for me it tends to depend on what kind of mood im in...

but you should definitly buy it. I just got it in a coupld months after Weathered and I love it.:)

Its good! It's good! It's really, really, really, incredibly good. I just asked my daughter if you had to pick only one Creed CD to have with you on a deserted island which one would it be? My choice is MYOP.

Weathered straight up sucks compared to MOP. HC is not bad, but MOP beats that too by a long shot.;)

My Own Prison is indispensable. You might well leave it in your CD player for the rest of your life once you get it. I like Weathered better than Human Clay, but I think they're more comparable to each other than either is to My Own Prison. My Own Prison's just on another level. I'm not saying it's a better level or a lesser level or anything like that. I'm just saying it's got it's own feel in comparison to the other two, but without ever straying from the fact that it's Creed and it rocks in true Creed form.

I tend to agree with the MOP , I love all three cd's more than anything but .. MOP is the one I tend to go to most often, There are so many songs from all 3 cd's that I love so much, like on my way to work for a 12 hour shift What If? strikes me, and Unforgiven is one of my most favorites and of course Weathered really is good anytime, love that song! I guess it just depends on my mood, I tend to go towards more of their heavier stuff most often!:rockon: They all are just great!

MOP is definitely the one reason to like Creed. Buy MOP and cringe at the marketing of the other two.

i wouldn't consider mop heavy, they have some heavy songs, but the entire album really isn't heavy. the band considers weathered their heaviest, but all in all I think they are all evenly heavy and have a mixture of everything in all 3 CD's. ya know? there's no set tone for any of their albums. all of them are great.

I still consider mop their heaviest overall. Doesnt have any songs as heavy as what if and bullets, but over all, considering all songs, it is heavier.

I dont think creed consider weathered their heaviest, they just said that it has the heaviest stuff they've done on there (bullets, freedom fighter), and their softest stuff on there (lullaby, DSD), its the best mix they have done before, no doubt.

I agree with that totally though.
Í think that's why i have never got sick of creeds music, there is always a bit of everything there, on every CD. It never gets boring, like with a lot of other bands.

you are right, they said its got some of the heaviest yet. i read back over it since i misunderstood. i have noticed that some of the people i know that aren't obsessed like me seem to like mop more then the other albums. i think it's definitly one to have.

I find it hard to decide which album i like the best musically, coz they are all so brilliant.
But for me, mop is so the best lyrically.
But i still dont know if its my fav overall. I like to think creed are getting better each album they write, and weathered maybe is musically their best.

Like the band said, if they go into the studio to write an album, and its not better than the last ones, then they are gonna go back in the studio and write it again. If it still isnt, they will do it again and again til it is.

Exactly, DangerousDan. That's why I still think MOP is the heaviest/hardest of the three. Weathered has a much lighter feel to it. I like listening to that when I'm happy. When I'm bummed, I need the dark stuff. Helps me release.

That's pretty heavy compared to their other stuff. Granted, it's not that heavy compared to most rock, but still, saying it's not heavy at all is not entirely accurate.

I love My Own Prison. It is in my car cd changer and has been for years. I listen to it daily. Absolutely a buy.

One of my favorite songs is "One" and I played it so often my 5 year old knows all the words and sings along with me!

Speaking of kids singing Creed.........Have any of you seen the comercial for that CD "Kids Bop 2" It has a bunch of 6 year olds singing Higher. It's hilarious.

It's played 100 times a day on Nickelodeon. The kids all sing songs like "Turn off the Light" "Superman" and "Higher". It's really cute the first 3 times you see it. After that I can't reach for the mute button fast enough.
