we cant say its shot. me and my wife seen stapp around a year and a half ago and he was awesome live. it was the concert in lemoore. sometimes with audio and television you cant hear the true sound as you would live.

Just another confirmation that the AOL videos were heavily edited, i could tell as soon as i heard them.

At least he's smart enough to not try to keep singing up where he used to.

I guaruntee that's the reason they are bringing eric along, tremonti can more than handle the guitar lead by himself, eric is there to help stapp with the vocals.

It's unfortunate, and not stapp's fault. He was made to sing through some really serious vocal conditions and never had the chance to take care of himself, and this is the result.

I'm sure the album will be great where his voice can be edited, but the power, range, and strength of his voice is just gone.

What makes you think that? The first night? The first live creed concert in 7 years?

He's bound to be really nervous for the first few nights... I think we should be judging his voice in a week or so when the nerves have gone.

So you're saying that nerves are the reason that the top and bottom 1/4 of his range are completely gone and his voice is dramatically more baritone than it used to be?

I'm sorry, but that's now how voices work. Nervous he might crack, go sharp, go flat, whatever. You don't lose the entirety of your range, power, etc.

Stapp is a professional performer, he's been performing consistently since 1997, he's done big opening nights before, he's done woodstock.

Even, for the sake of argument, if he was incredibly nervous and his voice disappeared (which doesn't happen), with the experience he has he would settle into the show by the end, his voice only got worse.

I'm not knocking the band, i'm thrilled they are back together, but i will call a spade a spade.

I admire stapp for not trying to sing the way he used to and finding new ways to make it work, he'll last for the entire tour this way.

Funny Ive seen Aerosmith 3 times and Steven Tyler at 61 Still sounds as good as he did way back when...I thought Stapp sounded Great for VH1..IMO they rocked the house..Lets see how many bands out of the touring circuit for seven years perform..Most would fold under the pressure...I think haters and doubters will be exactly that...Respect will be paid..Rock...Creed...

I'm pretty concerned for Aerosmith atm, things aren't going well for them (illnesses, etc). I haven't had the opportunity to see them live yet, and I really want to.

Yeah, he sounds great... but he he doesn't sound like he does on the studio recording of "Dream On."

Of course he could've taken better care of it. However, he's not an opera singer. Like most rock stars, he lived through the ups and downs of rock and roll stardom. Many of rock's best vocalists didn't even live to be 36. In some respects, he's fortunate to still be singing in a band. If Kurt Cobain was still around, I can guarantee you that he wouldn't sound the same as he did in 1991.
