Scott Stapp

As the singer, songwriter and founder of Creed, Stapp has helmed three multi-platinum records, including one diamond record, sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, generated nine consecutive number one hits and, as a crown in a decade of incredible achievement, won a Grammy for Best Rock Song in 2000. Stapp then launched his solo career in 2005 and is currently preparing his hotly anticipated album for Spring 2009.

Overtaking the music scene in 1997, Creed’s debut album, My Own Prison, spawned four number one singles, including “My Own Prison,” “Torn,” “What’s This Life For” and “One.” Written while My Own Prison was still on the charts, Creed’s blockbuster second album, Human Clay, established them as one of the biggest-selling rock bands in history.

Released in 1999, Human Clay debuted on the Billboard charts at number one, sold 11.5 million copies worldwide, generated four number hits and is ranked as one of the best-selling rock albums of all time. In 2000, “With Arms Wide Open” won the Grammy for Best Rock Song with Vocal Performance, while the album scored two additional nominations.

In the fall of 2001, Creed released their third album, Weathered, another monster success, entering the charts at number one, remaining there for a record-setting eight consecutive weeks and selling an astounding 6.3 million copies. “My Sacrifice” immediately soared to the top of rock and pop charts, the ninth consecutive #1 single for Creed, followed by “One Last Breath.”

Fueled by his love for music and the momentum from Creed, Stapp’s platinum solo debut, The Great Divide, was released by Wind-Up Records in 2005, breaking into Billboard’s Top 20 albums chart. Wind-Up Records then released Creed’s greatest hits album, featuring a DVD with the band’s music videos and live performances, also charting in Billboard’s Top 20 albums.

Stapp has also been honored with four American Music Awards, ten BMI Awards, ten Billboard Music Awards, a Dove Award, an MTV Video Music Award, five My VH-1 Music Awards, a People’s Choice Award, a TouchTunes Award, two Radio Music Awards, among additional nominations.

It's cool to see him going out to entertain our men and women serving in the armed forces. Very respectable way to start touring again.
