Musically speaking, I REALLY LIKE the music on this cd. I like it as good as any Creed cd and more than AB. I think the weakest points are the lyrics. They're kind of lame in a lot of places. I used to dislike the AB cd but now it has grown on me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's obvious the whole is MUCH greater than the sum of the parts. I wish they'd all bury the hatchet and just be Creed again.

Yeah, AB grew on me too. At first I kept thinking 'he's (myles) just not Stapp'. But Myles voice grew on me and the music is excellent.

Stapp allowed the music to influence the lyrics, which is why they seem different (or lame). I think his lyrics are generally fine, a bit cheesy sometimes (in TGD album), but fine.

I think I am most disapointed with Scotts vocal tone on a few of the songs. It seems like they tried to make it too edgy in the first couple of songs. Otherwise it is not as consistently good as Creed songs but how can they be? ABs album is great musically but Myles just never grew on me.

Well I 'm disaponted about TGD--especially concerning to the lyrics...after a lot of delays i was looking foward to see the result. I loved his songs while he was in Creed so I was expecting more. I meant, something more consistent. Some of his songs on TGD are too 'poor' that I cant believe they were writen by the same guy. Relearn love for instance is a song that I cant put up with it. Mostly of TGD are annoying and repetitive --the exception being Justify which is completely diferent from the entire album. A breath of quality in a too lyrically 'modest' album.

one day remains is mostly reflective of mark though...the next ab album will be the one to judge, IMO.

TGD was ok. The title song TGD to me is outstanding! But the biggest gripe I have with this album, is that EVERY SONG refers (obviously) to the troubles that Stapp went through, and the breakup of creed (backstabbing, etc etc). My wife was in the car when I played the cd for the first time. We were on our way home on a 2 hr drive. I played the whole disc, and halfway through my wife says "geez, what is this Stapp guy whining about in every song??" She does not know the story or anything about the Creed breakup. Matter of fact, she didnt even know Creed broke up. I was too busy being critical of each song, to see the big picture.... which was his constant refering to his struggles with the band, etc. Now, I don't blame him for writing a song or 2 about all of that stuff.. thats cool. But EVERY SONG? Come on....
I think the song "The Great Divide" (imagine what that is about) is really awesome, I can't get tired of it. And "Surround Me" is awesome too. The rest leaves a bit to be desired in my opinion. I still say, Creed will be again.
